CMC LEATHER
CMC is a company based in Brazil specialized in supplying all types of leather from America Latin.
CMC began its activities in 2010, but its operations date back many years. The company’s know-how in the business of supplying bovine leather began in 1995 through its founder, Carlos Sales, who is Uruguayan, lived most of his life in Brazil, lived for a few years in Mexico, where he left to stay for 10 years in Asia, when he worked as export manager for a large tannery.
During his career, he has always worked closely with tanneries in Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Argentina and Uruguay, enabling him to have an excellent relationship established with suppliers from many countries.
With in-depth knowledge of the Asian market and suppliers in Latin America, Carlos Sales began working to bring customers closer to suppliers, and vice versa, creating lasting and beneficial partnerships for everyone through CMC. Today, the company is headquartered in a strategic location, in the south of Brazil, and from there serves customers from all over the world. And, in Hong Kong, it has a vegetable tanned leather storage center with stock to serve the entire Asian market, including belt and artifact manufacturers, for immediate delivery.
For over 25 years in the market, CMC operates with strong and strategic partnerships, having access to the main leather suppliers and promoting the necessary services for its customers around the world.

Salted Leathers
The tanning process is essential for transforming raw hides into leather, giving them durability, resistance and other desirable characteristics. After the salting stage, the skins can be subjected to other phases of the tanning process, such as the use of chemical products or natural agents to improve their physical and chemical properties.
"Wet Blue" Leathers
After the "wet blue" stage, the leathers are washed and may undergo additional processes, such as dyeing, drying and finishing, to obtain the desired characteristics. "Wet blue" leather is often used in the manufacture of a variety of products, including shoes, bags, belts and leather goods in general. This type of leather is widely used in the tanning industry due to its properties and versatility.
Finish Leathers
Finished leathers refer to animal skins that have gone through all phases of the tanning process and have undergone additional treatments such as dyeing, finishing and preparation for final use in manufactured products. The finishing phase is crucial to giving the leather the desired characteristics in terms of appearance, texture, color and durability.
"Wet Blue" Leather Scraps
The "wet blue" leather scraps also undergo additional processes, such as dyeing and finishing, to be used in a variety of products, such as shoes, upholstery, accessories and other leather items. They are often more affordable compared to full-grain leather and are used in applications where surface aesthetics are not as critical as in high-end products.
Semi-finished Leathers
Semi-finished leathers refer to animal skins that have gone through some stages of the tanning process, but have not yet been fully finished for final use. This category of leather is at an intermediate stage between raw or salted leather and fully finished leather. Semi-finished leathers have some basic preservation and tanning characteristics, but still require additional treatments to achieve the desired properties.
"Leather Scraps"
Leather shavings are a by-product of animal skin processing, usually obtained during the process of splitting or separating the leather layers. Leather is often divided into layers to create specific products, resulting in two main categories: full grain leather, which is the top layer preserving the original surface of the skin, and shavings.
